Vigil is open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). You may use, modify, and distribute the Software in accordance with the license terms.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. The authors are not responsible for any damage, data loss, or legal consequences arising from use of the Software.
In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability exceeding $50 USD, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise.
Vigil executes security scanning tools (nmap, nuclei, trivy, nikto, etc.) that actively probe networks and systems. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization before scanning any target.
Vigil's AI features use third-party CLI tools (Claude, Codex) that you install and configure separately. Vigil does not collect, store, or transmit your AI interactions to any third party.
We may update these terms. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
